Junior Choir Residential A Blast!

Our third Voice Junior Choir Residential took place over the Easter holidays at the Barnstondale Centre on the Wirral.

The theme for this year was ‘Power Rangers’, exploring what the Bible teaches us about God’s power and what that means for our lives. One of our key memory verses was Psalm 28 verse 7, “the Lord is my strength and my shield; I put my faith in Him and helps me.” We also thought about how the power rangers of faith, prayer, the Bible and friendship can help us throughout our lives.

The children enjoyed their singing rehearsals, Easter egg hunt, sports day, crafts, baking amongst other activities. They also had the chance to explore the theme of the week further through art, creative writing, dance and photography in our creativity workshops, the outcomes of which featured in our concert at the end of the week. On the final day we went to the UCE Academy to perform the songs that we had learnt during the week to family and friends. The programme featured music by I Am They, Planet Shakers, Lauren Daigle, Citizens & Saints and Rend Collective. The children performed brilliantly and it was the perfect way to finish off a fantastic week together.

Here is what a couple of people had to say about the week:

“I wanted to say thank you to you and the team for taking the girls on the residential. They had a ball, and as usual came home talking about their relationship with God freely.”

“Just wanted to thank you again for Voice last week. The boys loved it and we feel so privileged to be able to send them. It’s weeks like this that they will remember their whole lives.”

“We are always amazed at the quality of the singing in the performance. It’s a real joy to come and find out what they’ve achieved during the week and it was great to see other creative giftings being demonstrated through dance, art, photography and poetry. A big thank you for your amazing ministry.”

A huge thank you to everyone who took part and especially to our wonderful team of leaders who made it all happen!
