School projects a huge success

Abbi and Simon were welcomed into schools in Liverpool and the Wirral last term to trial a 10-week Voice programme delivered to classes in Key Stage 2 that aimed to touch on aspects of the Music and PSHE curriculums. Through a diverse collection of songs rooted in the Christian faith, the children were able to work on their singing skills, develop their musical knowledge and understanding, as well as explore what Christians believe and what the Bible teaches us about a range of topics. Each project ended with a fantastic showcase to families and other classes in the school, showcasing all that the children had learnt and how much progress they had made.

Simon was delighted to work with students in Year 7 and the Sixth Form in a secondary school in Liverpool, forming two vocal groups aimed at developing a culture of singing in the and supporting the school’s spiritual life. At the Christmas service, the Year 7 students performed wonderfully in front of the rest of the school, singing ‘Love Come Down’, ‘Uncontainable Love’ and ‘Drops In The Ocean.’

The New Year also started on a high in another primary school in Liverpool where the choir, directed by Simon, performed their own concert to a delighted audience. The concert featured contemporary Christians songs arranged for the choir that highlighted the joy of our relationship with God and his unfailing love for us all. We are hoping that some of the children from the school choir will be able to join with our other Voice groups and the Liverpool Cathedral Junior Choir in our concert at the Anglican Cathedral in March.

We are thrilled to have so many fantastic opportunities to work in schools and to share some of our faith in Jesus with so many children through our music. If you would like to explore Voice coming into your school please do contact [email protected].
