On Saturday 3rd March Voice were joined by the Liverpool Cathedral Junior Choir and members of the Voice choir at Bishop Martin Primary School to present ‘You Reign’. The evening featured contemporary Christian music, especially arranged for our musicians, declaring that God created us, saved us through Jesus and reigns over all things!
The theme was introduced through the first set of songs which included Voice’s first public performance of ‘Glory’ by Phil Wickham which moved seamlessly into a gospel inspired version of ‘Better Is One Day’ by Matt Redman. The orchestra featured in a powerful rendition of ‘You Are’ by Tenth Avenue North and electric guitarist Joe White led the ensemble in the beautiful ‘My Father’s World’ by Gungor.
‘Victorious’ by Third Day and ‘O Praise The Name’ by Hillsong allowed the audience to focus on the cross and the victory that Jesus won for us there and, in response to this wonderful truth, the musicians performed the final section of Handel’s famous ‘Hallelujah’ chorus. Pianist Anna Robinson featured in the beautiful ‘Salt and Light’ by Lauren Daigle before the concert built to a celebratory climax through ‘You Will Never Run’ by Rend Collective and ‘Uncontainable Love’ by Elevation Worship.
It was a wonderful evening enjoyed by all who performed and who came to listen. One audience member commented that “it was absolutely fantastic, what a treat to see the children sing in the cathedral. Well done for organising such a magical event, making such amazing memories for us all and inspiring our children.” A huge thank you and congratulations to everyone involved!
