Junior Choir Residential Review

In June, we had a fantastic time away on our Voice Junior residential. Here, we ask one of our young leaders Anna to share some of her experiences.

Where did you go and what was your role?
On the Voice Junior Residential, we went to Crowden OEC in Glossop. I went with the Voice Junior Choir and was part of the leadership team. This was my first time as a junior leader.

What was your favourite song and why?
Whilst we were there we sang lots of new songs, my favourite being “Everything” by Toby Mc as it has a really catchy rhythm and I love the thought that God is with me in everything I do.

What parts of the Bible did you explore?
We explored some Bible passages, looking at Jesus as our good Shepard and rescuer and we acted out the story of “The Miraculous Catch” (My group especially loved acting out being a fish!). Also, we played lots of fun games including water balloon battle ships and the photo challenge.

What were your favourite parts of the weekend?
My favourite part of the weekend was seeing everyone enjoying themselves, having lots of fun and seeing the children develop their relationship with God and each other. Another highlight was the food – cooked breakfast and delicious meals! I really enjoyed the weekend and would definitely do it again in the future.

What some of the parents had to say:

“Thanks so much for taking and leading the residential last weekend, Alice had an absolute ball! The showcase was amazing!! Well done.”

“I’d just like to say a huge thank you for all of your efforts over the weekend, our daughter thoroughly enjoyed herself and I thought the showcase was fantastic!”

“Our daughter had a fantastic time at the weekend and really enjoyed it. Thank you so much for all your nurturing, support and encouragement. The showcase was wonderful and it was a thrill to be there.”
