Summer Resi a Smash Hit!

Our Voice Youth Residential 2019 was another huge success. Here, team leader Cai shares her thoughts on our time away.

This year I was able to be a part of the team running the Voice Residential for the first time. I’ve been coming to the residential as a camper since 2015 and I really enjoyed seeing things from a different perspective and being able to share how Voice has changed me as a person and as a Christian. I also loved being able to share God’s love with the young people who came along and tell them how much God loves them and how he is there with them always. This was reflected by our theme ‘The Bridge’, exploring how God out of his love for us bridged the divide and made a way for us to have a fantastic new relationship with him.

Our concert programme during the week contained songs from bands such as Casting Crowns, Delirious? and For King & Country. It was a beautiful selection of music and definitely helped me to worship God throughout the week. During the week we had so many different things going on, including a walk on the beach, creative workshops (from songwriting to crafts to instrumental improvisations), sports day and shopping in Lancaster city centre (although the leaders just met up and drank coffee!).

I really enjoyed being on team with the youth who I had grown up with through Voice and I began to see the same kind of friendships being formed in the younger generation that we had with us, which was really special.

It was a super busy week and very tiring. but it was a huge blessing for me and I’m so overjoyed to see the difference God is making to the young people who were with us.
