It was such a pleasure to plan, run and be a part of our mini youth residential this year. I was so blessed by the time that we spent together and by all of the youth that joined us. It has been so long since we have been able to go away together so it was a great feeling for me personally, to have that again.
Despite the awfully stormy weather we were able to make it safely to Bala on Saturday morning and spend the rest of the day learning music together, singing, playing games and catching up. We sang ‘Father of Lights’ by Third Day, ‘You Alone’ by Gungor and ‘God’s Romance by Delirious’. ‘God’s Romance’ was one of the first songs I ever sung when I joined Voice almost 9 years ago and it was really special for me to bring it back for this newer generation of Voice and to sing it as we continue to make our way into this new season, post-Covid.
On Sunday, we spent the morning worshipping together and talking about prayer, exploring different ways that we can pray and how these draw us closer to God. We took part in some prayer activities of our own, focusing on thankfulness, praise, creativity and repentance. Spending this time with our youth was such a blessing and it’s my prayer that they too were blessed by it and encouraged to seek God even more within their own lives.
