“Wow! Amazing worship tonight! The intonation of the voices, harmonies and arrangements were so exciting and thrilling! My spirit is still singing! Thank you so much.”
Young musicians from Voice have been delighting audiences across the North West over the last few months with their spring concerts.
In March, Voice Youth Choir & Orchestra performed at Didsbury Baptist Church and were joined by Voice Junior Choir for their concert at Lymm Baptist Church at the start of May. Both programmes featured music from their recent album ‘This Is Living’ as well as new repertoire. Songs performed for the first time included ‘From The Day’ and ‘We Are Yours’ by I Am They, both songs celebrating our wonderful relationship with God, a relationship more wonderful than any other that we will ever have. Junior leaders Abi, Lydia, Shona and Sian brought their own reflections on some of the songs and Junior Choir member Emily shared a beautiful poem that she had written during the creative writing workshops at the junior residential.
At the end of March, a small group of singers headed to New Life Church in Leigh to share some of their songs and lead the church in worship. It was such a powerful time and so wonderful to be able to bless the community there.
Around a similar time, our Voice Liverpool group joined with the school choir at Bishop Martin School in Woolton to present a concert to family and friends. It was brilliant to see the school choir performing alongside Voice musicians, who are such wonderful examples and role models. It was the first concert that the school choir had performed since Simon took over directing them in January and they were absolutely fantastic. There was great energy and enthusiasm and the quality of the singing was excellent. The evening was even more poignant as former Bishop Martin pupils Lily Fletcher and Bethany Gedge performed songs that they had written themselves.
A busy season in the life of Voice! Huge congratulations to everyone involved. It is such a pleasure to be able to bless so many people through our music and such a joy seeing so many young people being a voice in this world for God!
