Voice in Nottingham

It has been wonderful to see Voice growing in Nottingham over the past year. Here Voice Leader, Beth, reflects on recent adventures.

Voice in Nottingham have finished their summer term on a high, with two performances. We performed at St Mark’s Church 60th Anniversary, and then we held our own summer concert towards the end of the summer term. It was so special to perform together at the end of our first year, and to see all that God has done since September 2021.

It was a wonderful opportunity to sing for St Mark’s Church, and to bless the wider community with our music. Our summer concert saw lots of people come to support both our junior and youth choirs, and it was exciting to see our Voice community in Nottingham growing. Our concert programme for the concert contained songs from Toby Mac, Sidewalk Prophets, People of the Earth, Matt Redman, and other artists and bands.

One highlight of the concert for me was our opening song, Louder by Matt Redman, which was sung by both our junior and youth choirs. It was such a powerful moment of all our young people singing together to sing of the importance of raising their voices to praise God. The other highlight for me was the final song, See The Light by TobyMac. This was a favourite for many in our youth choir, and it was so powerful to share the importance of supporting each other through difficult seasons as well as trusting that Jesus is the light of the world and that there will always be light, no matter what we go through.

We also said goodbye to several of our team members in Nottingham, as they move onto really exciting things! I am so grateful for Rachel, Annie and Rosemary and all they have given to our choirs as we began in September, and for all their enthusiasm and support throughout the whole year.

I am so excited for what God has in store for us in September, especially as we welcome new members to both our choirs and start a new group in Radford.
